Joey Musmar

Managing Partner

Leads a team of accounting experts that provide tax, accounting government contractor advisory services ranging from complex tax planning for mergers & acquisitions to financial and benefits planning for corporate executives and entrepreneurs. His clientele is multinational government contracting entities that specialize in IT, software, healthcare, telecommunications, engineering services, and consulting services.

Joey has over 18 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions. He has performed due diligence and consulted with client’s attorneys to assist with structuring government contracting sales and acquisitions. He joined MillerMusmar as a Partner in 1999 and became the Managing Partner in 2004, with more than 18 years of experience in public accounting.

Joey spent some time in two of the big five accounting firms, Deloitte & Touché and Arthur Andersen. As a member of Deloitte & Touché, he established and headed their Compliance and Tax Technology Group, significantly contributing to the development and testing of their software packages and worked on data integration projections to ensure timely and accurate tax returns. While at Arthur Andersen, Joey worked in both the Real Estate and the Enterprise and Compliance Services Groups where he was responsible for not only corporate but also partnership and individual tax compliance and planning. He was a significant contributor to the corporate tax compliance division for both firms and eventually formed his own full-service public accounting firm, Musmar & Company. In addition to his strengths in tax compliance and planning, Joey has been accepted as a witness to testify in Fairfax County Circuit and General District courts and is experienced in fraud investigations and evidence gathering techniques. Mr. Musmar has worked on more than fourteen fraud investigations that covered manufacturing, broadcasting, contracting and medical fraud.


Joey received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and Certified in Financial Fraud (CFF). He has testified and conducted valuations for divorce, estate, gift, and M & A purposes. He also holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation.


Joey has appeared on News Channel 8 for the last 8 years. For two years, Joey has volunteered at George Mason University’s School of Management critiquing business plans for students.

Angela M. Lunghi  is MillerMusmar CPAs partner and has over twenty years of accounting experience in the fields of taxation and accounting. Her responsibilities at MillerMusmar include corporate and individual tax oversight and accounting oversight. Angie is also the firm’s expert with QuickBooks software.

Angie oversees the accounting department staff which services clients in various clients, including government contractors, professional service firms, closely held companies, construction and high net-worth individuals.  As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional,

Angie has lent her expertise of financial analysis to assist and guide many companies and help them reach their goals.  With her extensive tax background, she is able to spot potential tax issues, and properly plan to avoid tax problems before they develop.  As a team leader, she works to find solutions and motivates her team to get the job done, using a collaborative approach.

Prior to joining MillerMusmar, Angie worked at an accounting firm in San Angelo, TX and was also the Regional General Manager of a worldwide private jet catering company. Her responsibilities included overseeing the accounting functions, and financial reporting systems for those companies.

Mr. Steven Brillion is a Tax Partner with MillerMusmar CPAs. For over 35 years Steve has provided tax, tax consulting and accounting services to a wide variety of industries including real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and numerous service industries.  Those served are privately held, entrepreneurial businesses ranging in size from start-ups to $325 million in revenue.

Steve’s consulting activities include tax planning for businesses and individuals, tax structuring for mergers and acquisition’s transactions, financing structuring and negotiations, representation before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities and business turnaround services.

He spent several years as a partner of Warady & Davis LLP, a 75-year-old Chicago CPA firm with more than 100 personnel. The firm is a top 25 firm in its market.  While there, he served on the firm’s Executive Committee which is responsible for developing and executing the firm’s strategies and managing its operations.
